I am in awe of how well artwork helps children of all ages express their feelings. I can relate to pieces that mentioned listening to music as a way to express or cope with different emotions. Kudos to WATCH and their partners for maintaining the integrity and amazingness of this event online. Hopefully we’ll be able to be together again in person next year!

Kaden (age 4) says that some of his favorite works of art are:
Untitled Rashad 9- “It makes me feel like relaxing.”
Shine Willem 7- “I feel happy. I want to go outside to play!”

I enjoyed looking at the beautiful art by these talented young artists! So many of the younger children expressed positive emotions associated with playing outside and exploring nature! May these free spirits continue to flourish and always remember no great adventure ever began with “I was playing a video game…”

I learned that young people are very talented at expressing their feelings with art. I am so impressed by the depth of thought they used to describe what is inside them. It is so important. It made me feel proud to have them in the world with me. I hope those who are experiencing emotional pain will find comfort and support.

The skills and abilities of these artists is truly inspiring, not to mention the emotional descriptions that are going along with the art itself. What a gift to have seen this work!
